Charleston, Il. June 25, 2017- Charleston is a small town located in the southern part of Illinois. There are many unique businesses surrounding the college town.
Nancy Keating, an owner of several apartment complexes, stated, “[Our businesses] started from Charleston,” Keating said. “We’ve been here since 1987 and I have seen significant changes in both tenants and campus life.”
As the student population is decreasing, businesses have to adapt to change. Charleston has a new business, Bob’s Used Bookstore, which has captured the eyes of many locals. Joe Judd, the owner of Bob’s Used Bookstore, said he came to Charleston because he wanted to draw people to the town.
Charleston offers a variety of businesses that residents, students, and visitors can all enjoy.
